Las Cruces – On Saturday, October 29, there will be a number of road closures on or around the NMSU Las Cruces campus. These are related to the Homecoming Parade and the Football Game that will follow.
The closures are planned to take place as follows:
o University Avenue: University Avenue will be closed from 9:00 am until 11:30 am between Triviz Drive and El Paseo Drive/Union Avenue. All streets crossing University Avenue in this area will also be closed to traffic in order to allow the Homecoming Parade to take place. Traffic on University Avenue east of Triviz Drive and west of El Paseo/Union will remain available. Anyone needing to enter campus during this time should use either the Las Alturas/Geothermal Drive/Wells Street entrance or the Union Avenue/Stewart Street entrance.
o Arrowhead Drive & Stewart Street: These streets will be closed between Triviz Drive, Locust Street, and Wells Street in order to accommodate tailgating and Game Day activities. This closure will be in effect from 6:00 am until midnight on Saturday.
If travelling in either area, please be aware of these closures and plan your route accordingly. As always, pay attention to traffic conditions around you and be prepared to stop quickly, watch for directions from traffic control officers, use your turn signal, and avoid distractions that might take your attention away from driving.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation in keeping everyone attending these events safe.
