Massive Fort Bliss Training Exercises Through March

El Paso – The 214th Fires Brigade is conducting convoy and transport operations between Lawton, Oklahoma and El Paso, Texas, culminating in live-fire exercises and squad-level tactical training at Fort Bliss, Texas.

The exercise, which spans the months of Feb. and March, is designed to test the combat readiness and logistical capabilities of 1st Battalion, 14th Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Battalion, 4th Field Artillery, and 168th Brigade Support Battalion, across full-spectrum operations.

Training objectives include:
Testing convoy and maintenance procedures between Fort Sill and Fort Bliss
Transport of various munitions and materials during a 600-mile convoy
Completing phase two of 4th Infantry Division Expert Rifleman Program
Platoon-level raiding tactics
Reflexive fire exercises
Urban tactical training
Convoy live-fire drills
Certification of fire direction control and launcher crews
Reaction to simulated chemical, biological, radioactive and nerve agent exercises
Training on and evaluating casualty evacuation procedures

The 214th Fires Brigade training event at Fort Bliss is an exercise designed to test and maintain the combat readiness of 1st Battalion, 14th Field Artillery Regiment and 2nd Battalion, 4th Field Artillery, and 168th Brigade Support Battalion, and serves as a comprehensive review of the brigade's capabilities.

The 214th Fires Brigade conducts RESET operations, transforms, trains, and prepares for combat, and on order, deploys to synchronize and provide lethal and non-lethal fires in support of full-spectrum operations. The 214th Fires Brigade is currently supporting Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation New Dawn.
