New Mexico – New Mexico's largest water and electric utilities have teamed up to develop a DVD and curriculum that schools across the state can use to teach students about the relationship between electricity and water.
Public Service Company of New Mexico and the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority unveiled the DVD this week during a premier attended by city officials, teachers and students who appeared in the eight-minute movie.
PNM's Melissa Leymon says water and electricity are linked. The production of energy requires water, and the treatment and distribution of water relies on electricity.
She says it's important to teach children to conserve both.
The DVD and curriculum are aimed at students in high school and middle school. They are free to educators.
