Las Cruces, NM – Republican United State Senator Pete Domenici's retirement announcement last week means New Mexico will have its first open Senate seat since 1972. Domenici's decision to step down has created a political stir within the state and many prominent elected officials are considering a run for the Senate. As KRWG's Evan Woodward reports, First Congressional District Representative Heather Wilson has announced she is seeking the Republican nomination for the open Senate seat.
