Las Cruces, NM – Today marks the four year anniversary of President Bush's famous Mission Accomplished appearance on the deck of a U.S. aircraft carrier. During his speech the President declared that major combat operations in Iraq were over. Symbolically the Democratically controlled Senate and House waited until Tuesday to give the president a war funding bill that called for the scheduled withdrawal of troops in Iraq. The President vetoed the bill immediately.
KRWG's Evan Woodward spoke with both of New Mexico's United States Senators about their thoughts on the controversial issue.
