January 16, 2014 – Las Cruces, NM - On this edition of PUENTES, Emily Guerra bridges the community with Director of Family Empowerment, Dr. Rodolfo Acosta-Perez, at the Community Action Agency of Southern New Mexico (CAASNM). He earned his Doctorate in Economic Development from New Mexico State University (NMSU), and has been with CAASNM since 2013.
The Holidays are over, and it is now time to start preparing to file your taxes. CAASNM partners with AARP Foundation Tax-Aide to assist low- to moderate- income taxpayers in filing not-too-complex tax returns starting February 2nd through April 14th. Dr. Acosta says this service is free to the public and you can file taxes even if did not have a job or earn income. You must bring a photo I.D.; an original Social Security Card or document from Social Security; your W-2 and any substantiating documents.
