Love for Comics Leads Author to Self-Publishing

Costume contest at last year's Las Cruces Comic Con.

On this edition of PUENTES, bridges to the community, Emily Guerra meets with local comic, writer and entrepreneur Jason Salas. His desire to sell his comic strip, “Perk at Work,” at last year’s 1st annual Las Cruces Comic Con led him to self-publishing.

Salas’ free “Introduction to Self-Publishing” workshops help people determine if not using a publisher is a good option for them. He is also developing an extended seminar to provide folks with resources and a deeper knowledge on the subject; and also provides one-on-one consultations for people to learn the use of tools and technology, and how to use their creative output.

You can find Salas at the 2nd annual Las Cruces Comic Con on September 11th, 12th, & 13th at the Las Cruces Convention & Visitors Bureau. He will be available to sign your copy of his new book “Coffee Break Stories,” and you can also learn more about Self-Publishing. For more information visit his new website: www.jasonsalascreative.com, or www.perkatworkcomic.com.
