Walnut Street, from east Hadley Avenue to Palomas Avenue, will be closed to traffic starting Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020. It is estimated this phase of the project could take three weeks to complete. Smith & Aguirre Construction, under contract with the City of Las Cruces, will be making roadway improvements as part of the Walnut Street Improvements Phase 1 project.
RoadRUNNER Transit’s Stop 18, on Route 6, will be closed during this time. Detours will be in effect around the project area. Motorists who want to avoid possible delays should seek an alternative route. Access to residences and businesses will be maintained during construction.
