Doña Ana County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 33-year-old Las Cruces woman after she allegedly ran over another woman during a fight.
Deputies responded to the 5900 block of Las Alturas in the early morning hours of Jan. 1 after receiving a call that a woman had been hit by a car. At the scene, they discovered Rachel Miranda, who allegedly got into a physical altercation with another 39-year-old woman.
The fight escalated when Miranda reportedly got into her vehicle and ran over the other woman.
Paramedics transported the woman, who suffered a compound fracture and possible serious back injuries.
Just before 5 a.m., Miranda was arrested and charged with aggravated DWI. She was transported to the Doña Ana County Detention Center where she was held on a $1,000 secured bond.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
