County Bus Service In The Las Cruces Area Reaches New High

 

Las Cruces, New Mexico-Usage of bus service has reach a new high in the region.  Here is a statement from the South Central Regional Transit District (SCRTD):  Ridership of the bus services of continues to climb with August 2018 ridership exceeding 3315 trips on the agency’s five bus routes and is approaching 30,000 trips for the year.

Ridership on SCRTD’s Red route, operating from Las Cruces to Anthony rose to over 1214 trips.  “Student ridership to NMSU and Doña Ana Community College and Gadsden Schools contributed to the growth in ridership,” according to SCRTD Chairman, Sunland Park Mayor Javier Perea.  SCRTD has improved its service connections from Las Cruces to Anthony, Chaparral, Sunland Park, and El Paso.  “SCRTD service provides our riders with service to jobs, healthcare, colleges, and shopping, which is the mission of our agency,” Perea added.
