Pedro Acosta, Centennial High School

KRWG Public Media features interviews with the Las Cruces Mayor's Top Teens in between programs on KRWG-TV.  KRWG is also featuring Top Teens on its website.

Pedro has participated in countless community service projects, both outside and inside of the school community. He has cleaned up Centennial’s campus multiple times, has volunteered at dog shelters and the soup kitchen, and even helped at Sagecrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He has also volunteered for Dress a Child and Toys for Tots and raised hundreds of dollars for the Centennial Journalism Program.

He has lettered in both journalism and in student government.

Pedro also challenged himself by taking four AP classes and passed every single one. He has taken at least one honors course per year and his sophomore year he decided to get ahead in his science credits by taking both honors biology and chemistry and passing both with an A.

In student government, Pedro has set up school events such as spirit weeks, dances, student-led workshops, elections, community service events, teacher appreciation weeks and prom.
