Centennial Concert to feature New Mexico-inspired music

New Mexico has produced or inspired countless composers and performers, and hosts many outstanding music festivals and ensembles. “O Fair New Mexico,” a concert scheduled for September 8, celebrates the state’s centennial and some of that musical heritage. Barbara Toth, executive director of Mesilla Valley Musical Arts, and composer and graduate student John Matthews discuss with KRWG’s Leora Zeitlin some of New Mexico’s finest musicians, including Randy Granger, Michael Mauldin, Warner Hutchison, Justin Raines and the world premiere of John Matthews’ own tribute to New Mexico, “A Potter’s Tale.”
