Photos capturing the people and places along New Mexico Highway 28 are on display at the Branigan Cultural Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico. NMSU photojournalism students of Associate professor and professional photographer Bruce Berman have traveled the highway documenting rural communities.

For over a decade, the “Small Village New Mexico Project” has provided Berman’s advanced photography students the opportunity to use their talents to capture the unique villages and scenery of southern New Mexico and even some parts of west Texas.

The “Small Village New Mexico Project” will be on display at the Branigan Cultural Center at 501 N. Main Street, Las Cruces New Mexico 88001 from April 14th through June 24th, 2023.

Berman will give a lecture on the project at the Branigan Cultural Center on Thursday, April 20th, 2023 at noon.

The center will also host an opening reception and gallery talk featuring students who contributed to the project will take place on May 5th, 2023 from 5 pm to 6:30 pm.

The Branigan Cultural Center is located in downtown Las Cruces and is open from Tuesday through Friday from 10 am to 4:30 pm and Saturday 9 am to 4:30 pm. Admission is free.
