Reflections
Reflections
The Ten o' Clock Club, aka, "The TENNERS", will be presenting their exhibit, “Reflections”, as the January 2023 Exhibit at the Deming Art Center. In 2005, interest in art and public art projects brought five Las Cruces artists together. They decided to meet in various Las Cruces cafes at 10 am on the tenth of each month, dubbing the group as The Ten o' Clock Club.
Additional artists have come along through the years, expanding the group to many more. Known for "contagious enthusiasm" and even "eccentricity," artists represent a diversity of art mediums: assemblage, ceramics, collage, encaustic, jewelry design, pastels, photography, printmaking, and weaving. Over the years the Ten o'Clock Club has painted an Organ Mountain mural in one cafe, plus have exhibited their work in many others. Most recently, the group has exhibited in the 925 Gallery, the Dona Ana Arts Council Gallery, the AA Gallery, and the Mesquite Gallery. During First Friday Art Rambles in Las Cruces, prior to Covid, Tenners showed work in many environmentally-related exhibits at the Southwest Environmental Center, and theatre-related exhibits in the theatre gallery of the Black Box Theatre. All during Covid, the Ten 0'Clock Club convened in the Agave Garden, beneath the shade of a giant tree and the beauty of the Healing Wings Project tree.
The Deming Art Center will host a time to meet the artists on Sunday, January 8, 2023, from 1PM-3PM. Deming Art Center is located at 100 S. Gold St. in Deming. Please call 575-546-3663, visit our website at www.demingarts.org or see our Facebook page for more information.
