Discord: The Gospel According to Thomas Jefferson, Charles Dickens, and Count Leo Tolstoy
The Las Cruces Community Theatre presents the smart comedy, Discord: The Gospel According to Thomas Jefferson, Charles Dickens, and Count Leo Tolstoy, March 29 through April 14. Thomas Jefferson, Charles Dickens, and Count Leo Tolstoy all walk into a room. The last thing they remember was the moment they died, and now they’re all stuck in a room together. With limited information about each other, the three famed GOSPELISTS argue who was right about their theories about Jesus of Nazareth, the New Testament, and more, all the while hurling insults and quips at each other. Scott Carter’s dry-comedy depicts Jefferson, Dickens, and Tolstoy not as philosophers–but merely as men needing to be heard.
