New York comes to Silver City!
Silver City Community Theatre, in collaboration with Starlight Theatre, is thrilled to announce the upcoming production of “Eleemosynary” by Lee Blessing, a richly-themed theatrical experience that promises to captivate audiences with its celebration of women’s stories across three generations. This compelling production is set to take the stage at Starlight Theatre from October 31, 2024 to November 14, 2024.
Eleemosynary touches on topical themes such as eccentricity, autonomy, freedom, reconciliation, youth and resurrection as it relates to keeping memories alive. Directed by Krista Hibbard, one of Playbill’s twenty powerhouse women directors, this play promises to be the topic of conversation for months to come.
Eleemosynary will be staged at the Starlight Theatre at 1915 Gold St. in Silver City, New Mexico.
Rehearsals will begin 10/7 and will be 3-4 days per week, 3-4 hours per day or as needed and will continue until opening on 10/31.
Performance Dates and Times: All at 4pm
Auditions will take place by self-tape and Zoom; must be received by 8/22.
Characters are:
Dorothea a woman of means in her 50s.
Artie her daughter, 30s, and
Echo the granddaughter, late teens.
