Savor a Hot Bowl of Soup and Collect a Handmade Bowl

Empty Bowls made by the Potters' Guild of Las Cruces members and friends.
St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 225 W. Griggs St., Las Cruces, NM

Las Cruces, NM - On this edition of PUENTES, bridges to the community, host Emily Guerra meets with recently appointed El Caldito Soup Kitchen Board of Director’s President, Gabe Anaya, where he has been volunteering for 17 years. El Caldito has been providing meals for the homeless and less fortunate in Las Cruces and surrounding communities for more than 30 years. They also receive help from the Potters’ Guild of Las Cruces with the “Empty Bowls” annual luncheon which PGLC first organized in 1993.

Anaya says Guild members and friends spent all summer making over 1,000 unique bowls for this year’s event. This year’s 24th Empty Bowls luncheon and silent auction will be held on Friday, October 21st from 11 am to 2 pm at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 225 West Griggs Street.
