Pedestrian Injured in Las Cruces Crash

A pedestrian struck by a vehicle Wednesday morning was transported to a local hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.

About 8 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, Las Cruces police and fire were dispatched to the crash at the intersection of Telshor Boulevard and Claude Dove. A 73-year-old pedestrian was struck by a sport utility vehicle and sustained serious injuries. Witnesses and firefighters cared for the victim until he was transported to a local hospital.

Police learned a Toyota SUV was traveling south on Telshor and turning left, or east, onto Claude Dove Drive. The vehicle struck the pedestrian who was walking north and crossing Claude Dove at the intersection.

The driver of the SUV was issued a citation for failure to yield to a pedestrian.
