This year El Caldito celebrates serving two million meals since 1984 in Las Cruces. Also, it’s the Potters’ Guild of Las Cruces 27th Annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser with all proceeds going to El Caldito Soup Kitchen. Las Cruces, NM – On this edition of PUENTES a la comunidad, bridges to the community, host Emily Guerra met with Potters’ Guild of Las Cruces Board Member, Leetha Rushing, and El Caldito Soup Kitchen Volunteer Vice President Richard Lohmeyer, to talk to us about the 26th Annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser, Friday, October 19th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 225 West Griggs Avenue in Las Cruces at the corner of Alameda & Griggs. There will be soup from over 50 local restaurants to eat-in or take-out, there will also be a silent auction wo bid on several items.

El Caldito has been providing meals for the homeless and less fortunate in Las Cruces and surrounding communities since 1984. Las Cruces, NM - On this edition of PUENTES, bridges to the community, host Emily Guerra meets with recently appointed El Caldito Soup Kitchen Board of Director’s President, Gabe Anaya, where he has been volunteering for 17 years. El Caldito has been providing meals for the homeless and less fortunate in Las Cruces and surrounding communities for more than 30 years. They also receive help from the Potters’ Guild of Las Cruces with the “Empty Bowls” annual luncheon which PGLC first organized in 1993.
