Las Cruces, NM – On this edition of PUENTES a la comunidad, bridges to the community, host Emily Guerra met with Co-Chairs of the Las Cruces Catholic Schools Gala Scholarship Committee, Travis Gutierrez and Whitney Novello, to talk to us about their 4th Annual Scholarship Gala – this year’s theme is “Día de Los Muertos/Day of the Dead.” The Gala will take place Friday, November 1st at the Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum, 4100 Dripping Springs Rd., starting at 6 p.m. – VIP hour; Margarita Tasting - 7-8 p.m.; Dinner, Dancing & Entertainment - 8 p.m. to midnight; 21 and older.

Las Cruces, NM – On this edition of PUENTES a la comunidad, bridges to the community, host Emily Guerra met with New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum Director, Mark Santiago, about his new book: “A Bad Peace and a Good War: Spain and the Mescalero Apache Uprising of 1795-1799.” The book challenges long-accepted relations between the Spaniards and the Native Americans in the borderlands between Mexico and the United States. Santiago concludes that the consequences of this war were negative for Mescaleros and ambiguous for Spaniards.

  April 12, 2014 – Las Cruces, NM - On this edition of PUENTES, Emily Guerra bridges the community with Communications Manager of the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum, Craig Massey, third generation farmer. From past to present, farming in New Mexico can be experienced in Las Cruces at the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum through various exhibits, classes and presentations. The interactive museum is on 47 acres and brings to life the 3,000-year history of farming and ranching in the Southwest to visitors from all over the world.
