Las Cruces Ukes Perform in support of Mesilla Valley Hospice

Las Cruces, NM – On this edition of PUENTES a la comunidad, bridges to the community, host Emily Guerra met with Las Cruces Ukes Board members, Cheryl Fallstead and Bob Hull, to talk about the “Stilled Strings Memorial Concert,” Saturday, March 9th at 2 p.m. at Morning Star United Methodist Church, 2941 Morning Star Drive in Las Cruces. The musical celebration is in honor of three group members who passed away: Roger McCandless, T.J. (Tamra Jean) Diaz, and Bev (Beverly Jo) Hale, and is also a fundraiser to support Mesilla Valley Hospice, a non-profit organization in Doña Ana County.

Regular musical volunteers at La Posada will also perform at the concert: Long Story Short with Bob Hull, Chris Sanders and George Aiuvalasit; Ukelua with Bob Hull and Kelle Hoskins; Ted Powers, a hospice volunteer, will perform a special solo. The Las Cruces Ukes Teen Club will also perform two of their favorite tunes. Fallstead says “admission to the concert is by donation and we’re hoping concert goers will be generous in their support.”
