Viva España - A Flamenco and Spanish Dance Performance at the Rio Grande Theatre

Viva España! Flamenco and Spanish Dance Performance at the Rio Grande Theatre, April 8th and 9th.

Las Cruces, NM - On this edition of PUENTES, bridges to the community, host Emily Guerra meets with Frank Gilpin, a.k.a. Paco Antonio, New Mexico State University Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Dance. He is also the Co-Director of “Sol y Arena,” NMSU Dance Program’s Flamenco and Spanish Dance Ensemble.

As part of the Doña Ana Arts Council’s New Mexico Heritage Series, The Rio Grande Theatre and the NMSU Flamenco and Spanish Dance program present “Viva España,” a Flamenco and Spanish dance performance on Saturday, April 8th at 7:30pm and Sunday, April 9th at 2:30pm, with NMSU’s “Sol y Arena” and Alma D’Arte Charter High School Flamenco Dancers, at the Rio Grande Theatre, 211 N. Main Street, Las Cruces. Proceeds from this event help the student dance organization, Society for Spanish Dance, travel to study in Spain for one month during the summer of 2018.
