Public Invited to Community Meetings on Forest Plan Revision

The Lincoln National Forest invites the public to attend a community meeting about their effort to revise their Forest Plan. The revised Forest Plan will describe the strategic direction for management of forest resources for the next 15 years.

At the beginning of each meeting an update will be provided on the Forest Plan Revision process, how this series of meetings fits in, what the big-picture community engagement is for plan revision followed by group interactions. Collaboration at these meetings will help determine needed changes to the current plan and create useful dialogue between the forest and nearby residents, users, and interested individuals. The schedule is as follows:

·         October 1, 12-2 p.m., Weed Community Center, Weed, NM

·         October 1, 6-8 p.m., Otero County Electric Cooperative, 404 Burro Ave. Cloudcroft, NM

·         October 2, 6-8 p.m., National Cave and Karst Research Institute, 400-1 Cascades Ave., Carlsbad, NM
