NMSU Career Services to host 34th annual Career Expo

With 130 employers registered, New Mexico State University students and alumni along with community members can attend the 34th annual Career Expo Fair Sept. 18-19. NMSU Career Services hosts the two-day event that will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Corbett Center Student Union third floor ballrooms.

“Attendance at career fairs are excellent venues to meet employers face-to-face to discuss employment and career goals,” said Roseanne Bensley, NMSU Career Services associate director. “Students would benefit by researching the employers’ websites in advance of the fair and customizing their resumes to meet the employer’s goals. The career fair should be treated like any interview, which means it is important to dress appropriately. We offer this information on how to dress for work and job interviews at https://www.thebalance.com/clothes-make-the-man-or-woman-524787 .”

Career Expo will focus on majors in the Colleges of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences, Arts and Sciences, Business, Education (non-teaching) and Health and Social Services Sept. 18. The College of Engineering is co-sponsoring the event Sept. 19, which will highlight majors in computer science, engineering, life/physical sciences, mathematics and technology.

Career Expo has become a long-standing tradition as the largest career fair of the academic year and provides students the chance to meet and connect with potential employers at all points to either discover career information or seek employment for co-ops/internships, permanent full-time positions along with planning for 2019 summer jobs.
