Las Cruces Residents: Support Small Business Saturday

Commentary: It has been a tough year for Las Crucens as we have learned how to adjust, adapt, and deal with the many challenges associated with this pandemic.

On this Thanksgiving weekend we genuinely do have something to be thankful for. The resiliency of Las Cruces’ businesses to persevere through this unpredictable and unprecedented hardship is admirable and greatly appreciated.

We have an opportunity this Saturday to directly show our appreciation and gratitude by buying local goods and services during Small Business Saturday, on November 28.Even though New Mexico’s Public Health Orders prevent us from physically going to and entering into Las Cruces’ small businesses we can still help them, and ourselves, by ordering, buying, picking up or having their food, goods or services delivered to us. The City partnered with many local organizations to create the website www.shopsouthernnm.com to make shopping local easier and more convenient!

As we have had to adjust and adapt our lives to protect ourselves and our families, we must also do all we can to help and preserve our local businesses who have made a difference in the quality of life all Las Crucens have come to treasure. Our welfare, our happiness goes hand in hand with prosperity and the success Las Cruces’ hometown, local businesses provide and share with us every day.

We urge all Las Crucens to do what they can to support Small Business Saturday and shop local!
