Investigators Looking Into Officer-Involved Shooting In Las Cruces

Las Cruces police and the Multi-Agency Officer-involved Incident Task Force are investigating a shooting that occurred Thursday evening.

Preliminary information from the investigation indicates that, about 7:30pm. on Thursday, Sept.13, officers were dispatched to a call of a domestic disturbance at a home on the 2400 block of Tiffany Drive.

There was an officer that discharged his weapon and one person was transported to a local hospital. Police expect to have a portion of Tiffany Drive closed for the rest of the night.

As is Las Cruces police procedure, the officer who discharged his weapon will be placed on standard administrative leave.

The task force is comprised of investigators from New Mexico State Police, Las Cruces Police, the Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Office and New Mexico State University Police. Once completed, results of the investigation are shared with the Third Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
