The U.S. Geological Survey reports an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 shook the region this morning.
Mentone, Texas, where the epicenter is reported, is 77 miles west of Odessa.
There have been several smaller quakes reported in the same region over the last two weeks. Aftershocks are expected.
