Las Cruces, NM – On this edition of PUENTES a la comunidad, bridges to the community, host Emily Guerra met with “Power of the Purse Las Cruces” hosts, Jo Renda and Soledad Brozek, to talk about their 3rd Annual “Power of the Purse” charitable event. It’s an auction of new and gently used purses donated by the community and sold at a silent auction to benefit local charities. The hosts are Soledad Brozek, Teresita Corral, Jo Renda and Laura Romanelli. This year the proceeds will benefit: “Cherished K-9 All Breed Rescue” and “Turning Point of Las Cruces.”
The event will take place on Saturday, August 24th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the home of Laura Romanelli, 1395 Snow Road, Mesilla. So far, they have collected over 200 purses, all shapes, sizes, and colors, some are well known designer brands. Purse donations can be dropped off at Turning Point, 3201 S.
