The U.S. Air Force is proposing to increase combat training above the Gila and the surrounding region, which would also include significantly lowering supersonic jet flights over the Catwalk and Gila Wilderness. Scott Brocato recently spoke with Patrice Mutchnick, director of the conservation and education organization Heart of the Gila, about the proposal and how it would affect the region if passed.

Scott Brocato has been an award-winning radio veteran for nearly 40 years. He has lived and worked in Las Cruces since 2016. You can hear him during "Morning Edition" from 5am-9am weekdays. Off the air, he is also a local actor and musician, playing bass with his band Flat Blak around Las Cruces and El Paso.
