13-year-old Sujari Britt devotes her life to music

Leora Zeitlin

Born into a musical family, Sujari Britt began studying violin, piano and guitar before settling at the age of four on the instrument that has made her famous: the cello. The 13-year-old prodigy has played at the White House, is in demand as a soloist with orchestras, and has just started college classes at the Manhattan School of Music. She visited Las Cruces to perform the opening concert of the 2014-2015 season with the Las Cruces Symphony Orchestra. She and LCSO conductor Lonnie Klein came to the KRWG studios to talk with Intermezzo host Leora Zeitlin about the concert and Sujari’s budding career.
