FYI Plus's Summer Food Service Program

FYI Plus's Summer Food Service Program

Families & Youth Innovations Plus (FYI+) will launch its six-week Summer Food Service Program on Monday, June 5th at over 30 locations throughout Las Cruces and the surrounding area. Children and youth ages 1 to 18 and adults with disabilities are eligible to visit any of the designated sites for free meals through July 14th.

July 15th it's the Back 2 School Bash - with 1,500 FREE, FULL backpacks for youth ages 5-18. One backpack per qualifying youth. 9-11 a.m. at DACC East Mesa Branch on Sonoma Ranch. Qualifying student must be present.

The Summer Food Service Program is managed by the State of New Mexico and is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The State works with multiple agencies like FYI Plus to ensure children across the state do not go hungry while school is out for summer break. FYI Plus has been facilitating the program in Las Cruces since 1993.

A full list of meal site locations can be found at www.summerfoodnm.org. Some sites serve breakfast and lunch, while others only serve lunch or dinner. The program will not provide meals on the national holidays of Juneteenth (6/19) or Independence Day (7/4).
