Wastewater Spill Cleanup In Las Cruces

Las Cruces Utilities is continuing response efforts to a wastewater spill in a storm drain that occurred February 27 in the vicinity of Union and Turquoise Avenues. The spill was the result of a wastewater collection line failure. Wastewater collection staff and a contractor are currently pumping the spilled wastewater back into the wastewater collection system.

The proper state and federal authorities have been informed and Las Cruces Utilities is conducting the appropriate remediation to the area affected. There is no impact to public health or the water supply of the community.
