A Walk for a Day of Remembrance

Saturday, September 24th in Las Cruces, Young Park.
Las Cruces Walk to End Alzheimer's

Las Cruces, NM - On this edition of PUENTES, bridges to the community, host Emily Guerra meets with Alzheimer’s Association Southwestern Regional Manager, Steven Montaño to bring awareness of Alzheimer’s, the sixth leading cause of death in the United States. According to the 2016 Alzheimer’s Disease Facts and Figures Report, there are over 5 million Americans living with this incurable disease; 37,000 are in our own state of New Mexico. He says the best way to bring awareness is through the “Walk to End Alzheimer’s.”

The Las Cruces 6th Annual “Southwestern Regional Walk to End Alzheimer’s” will be held on Saturday, September 24th at Young Park, 1905 Nevada Avenue. Montaño says “it will be a day of remembrance.” Although the Walk takes place locally in one month, it is not too early to register, volunteer and donate.
