Santa Ana Catholic Church Celebrates 100 years in Deming

Centennial activities at Santa Ana Catholic Church.

Las Cruces, NM – On this edition of PUENTES, bridges to the community, host Emily Guerra met with the Pastor of Santa Ana Catholic Church, Reverend Manuel F. Ibarra, to talk about their Centennial Celebration in June.

In 1918 Santa Ana Catholic Church open its doors to the Hispanic community in Deming. The celebration of this historic 100 year-old church will take place the entire month of June with several family activities. The theme for the centennial celebration is “Looking at our Past with Gratitude, Living our Present with Passion, Embracing our Future with Hope.” The events will focus on history, tradition, faith, culture, art, and sports. Rev. Ibarra invites everyone in the community; he says the youth are an important part of the celebration.

The festivities will begin with a 5k run and golf scramble at the Rio Mimbres Country Club on Saturday, June 9th; and with the 2nd Annual Hispano Arts Market on June 9th and 10th at Santa Ana Catholic Church, 400 S. Ruby Street in Deming. More information and schedule of events is available on Facebook at Santa Ana Catholic Church.
