NMSU to host Sunshine Week panel discussion on Spaceport America

In honor of Sunshine Week 2018, New Mexico State University will host a panel discussion, “Spaceport: Privacy vs. Protection,” at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, at Zuhl Library, third floor. The event is free and open to the public. 

A national initiative, Sunshine Week was created by the American Society of News Editors to educate the public about the importance of open government. This will be the sixth year NMSU has held a Sunshine Week event. 

The panel will include Dan Hicks, Spaceport America CEO; Tom Johnson, New Mexico Foundation for Open Government Board of Directors and Institute for Analytic Journalism executive director; New Mexico Sen. William F. Burt; New Mexico Sen. Jeff Steinborn; and Walt Rubel, Las Cruces Sun-News opinion page editor. Peter Goodman will serve as moderator for the discussion on the Spaceport open records law. A question and answer session will follow. Light refreshments will be served. Parking at Zuhl Library is available after 4:30 p.m.
