New Mexico Information Technology Secretary To Step Down

SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — New Mexico Department of Information Technology Secretary Darryl Ackley is leaving the job in a few weeks.

Gov. Susana Martinez's office announced Monday that Ackley is stepping down on Aug. 27 to serve as Chief Technology Officer at the Institute for Complex Additive Systems Analysis at New Mexico Tech.

Martinez appointed Ackley in February 2011 shortly after she took office.

During Ackley's tenure with DoIT, the agency completed several information technology initiatives including the successful upgrade and modernization of the state's human resources and capital management system, the modernization of the state's public safety radio infrastructure and multiple digital government initiatives.

Deputy Secretary Estevan Lujan will serve as acting cabinet secretary.
