“Light Works: A Century of Photography” Coming To Las Cruces Museum of Art

“Light Works: A Century of Photography,” will open with a reception during the Downtown Ramble, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, August 3 at the Las Cruces Museum of Art, 491 N. Main St.

All works on view are drawn from the collection of the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, Kalamazoo, Michigan, which also organized the exhibition. The exhibition will continue through Saturday, October 27.

From Eadweard Muybridge's 19th-century photographic studies of animal locomotion to Richard Misrach's contemporary chromogenic prints, this exhibition spans the history of photography. Alfred Stieglitz, Edward Curtis, Ansel Adams, Dorothea Lange, Diane Arbus, Richard Avedon and many other celebrated photographers will be included in the exhibition, drawn from the Kalmazoo Institute of Arts collection.

The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Saturday. For information, visit the museums website or call 575/541-2137.
