Las Cruces Police Seek Help Identifying Shooting Suspect

Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that helps identify the person or persons responsible for firing several rounds at an apartment building.

Shortly before midnight on Friday, Oct. 5, Las Cruces police responded to a shots-fired call at The Verge apartments, 320 E. Union Ave. Officers arrived to find that one of the apartment buildings was struck multiple times by gunfire. No injuries were reported.

Investigators believe the shooter was on foot and fled from The Verge toward a nearby mobile home park.

Anyone with information that can help identify the suspect is asked to call Las Cruces Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Tips can also be provided through the Las Cruces Crime Stoppers app, “P3 TIPS.” The app is available through the App Store on most devices.

Those who provide tips through Crime Stoppers do not have to leave their own name and can remain completely anonymous.
