Las Cruces Police Investigate Brawl That Included Gunfire

 

Las Cruces Police are continuing to investigate an affray on south Espina StreetMonday evening that resulted in gunfire but no injuries.

 

Shortly after 9 p.m. Monday, April 16, police were called to a disturbance at 1505 S. Espina St. While en route officers learned that someone fired a handgun during the fight and that there were possible injuries.

 

Officers arrived and learned that an ongoing disagreement between tenants in two apartments had escalated into a brawl. Witnesses said that one of the men involved in the fight pulled out a semi-automatic pistol and fired into the air at least once. He also is said to have pointed it at his adversaries before running off.

 

No injuries were reported as a result of the gunfire or fight.

 

Officers also discovered three vehicles in the apartment complex parking lot with busted windows. The vehicles were believed to have been damaged as part of the disturbance.

 

No arrests have been made at this time. Las Cruces Police detectives are continuing to investigate the incident.
