Las Cruces Event Caters To Increased Interest In Vinyl (Yes...More Albums Are Being Sold)

More people are shunning CDs and digital files for music.  They're turning to vinyl...yes, more people are buying albums.  Nielsen reports a 260 percent increase in sales since 2009.  9.2 million units were sold in 2014 alone.

The New Mexico State University Music Business Program is hosting an event in downtown Las Cruces on Sunday to capitalize on the trend.  The Southwest Vinyl Collective takes place from noon to 4pm, Sunday, November 1 at "La Placita"...right next to the Main Street Bistro.

The event features local vendors selling records, music books, audio equipment, and more.  Live music and food vendors will also be on hand.
