Islamophobia Discussions Following "Mosque Alert" and "The Four Hijabs"

The Making of "Mosque Alert" - Wednesday, April 5th, 5-6:30pm at ASNMSU Center for the Arts.
The Four Hijabs - Thursday, April 6th, 5-6:30pm at NMSU's Digital Media Theater in Milton Hall.

Las Cruces, NM - On this edition of PUENTES, bridges to the community, host Emily Guerra meets with Dr. Manal Hamzeh, Associate Professor of Gender and Sexuality Studies for the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies at New Mexico State University, about Muslim discrimination.

Scenes from a play “Mosque Alert” with Playwright Jamil Khoury and Producer Malik Gillani will be presented on Wednesday, April 5th from 5 to 6:30pm at the ASNMSU Center for the Arts, 1000 E. University at Espina. A special screening of a short film, “The Four Hijabs,” co-authored by Hamzeh and Khoury, will be on Thursday, April 6th from 5 to 6:30pm at the Digital Media Theater, Milton Hall at NMSU. The events are co-sponsored by the NMSU Department of Interdisciplinary Studies/Gender & Sexuality Studies, the International and Border Programs, Theatre Arts Department, Honors College, and Creative Media Institute. Hamzeh invites audiences in Las Cruces to engage in challenging questions during panel discussions about Islamophobia in the United States.
