Indictment Against Woman Alleged to Have Exploited Alamogordo Nursing Home Resident for Over $80,000

Albuquerque, NM–This afternoon, Attorney General Hector Balderas announced that Guadalulpe Evelyn Kingston was indicted by an Otero County Grand Jury on 18 felony charges including Exploitation, Forgery, Unlawful use of a Debit Card, Theft of Identity and Falsification of Documents, for allegedly stealing over $80,000 from an elderly nursing home resident who suffers from dementia.

Here is a statement from the AG's office:

“Protecting New Mexican senior citizens and other vulnerable populations from exploitation and abuse is my top priority,” said Attorney General Hector Balderas. “While I cannot comment specifically on the facts of the pending case, I want New Mexicans to have a heightened sense of awareness around the dangers of elder abuse and exploitation and the need to protect themselves against pervasive crimes that frequently target our seniors.”

This case was investigated and will be prosecuted by the Office of the Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Division.
