Help for future teachers

Las Cruces – A program at New Mexico State University is helping students who want to teach science or math.

NMSU is offering students studying mathematics, science, engineering and technology the opportunity to receive extra help paying their tuition bills.

The Robert Noyce Scholarship is being offered to full time undergraduate and graduate students.

Recipients will receive $5,000 each semester for one year.

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must have completed 90 hours toward a bachelor's degree, have a 2.5 GPA, and be committed to pursuing a teaching career in science or math.

NMSU collaborates with the University of New Mexico for the scholarship, which is provided by the National Science Foundation.
