Constitutional Marriage Amendment Splits NM Sens

Las Cruces, NM – Debate in the U.S. Senate over a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage has members from the Land Of Enchantment on opposing sides. Senior Senator Pete Domenici (R) says the outlook for the nation is bleak without a clear definition of marriage being solely for one man and one woman. Junior Senator Jeff Bingaman (D) says it is inappropriate to deal with this contentious issue at the federal level.
