The National Weather Service is forecasting below normal temperatures for the next few days. As a result, the City of Las Cruces has activated six facilities as warming stations. A warming station is a place that offers temporary shelter from the cold for all residents.
The warming stations will be open and staffed from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. beginning Tuesday until further notice. Warming stations provide immediate, temporary relief during periods of extreme cold. They are not overnight emergency shelters.
The warming stations are:
- Frank O’Brien Papen Community Center, 304 W. Bell St.
- Henry R. Benavidez Community Center ,1045 McClure Rd.
- Meerscheidt Recreation Center, 1600 E. Hadley Ave.
- Munson Center, 975 S. Mesquite St.
- Sage Café, 6121 Reynolds Dr.
- City Hall, 700 N. Main St.
