CARE's 3rd Annual La Gran Fiesta will include National POW/MIA Recognition Day

National POW/MIA Recognition Day on Friday, September 21st at 5:30 p.m. at the Plaza de Las Cruces.

Las Cruces, NM – On this edition of PUENTES a la comunidad, bridges to the community, host Emily Guerra met with CARE (Cancer Aid Resource & Education, Inc.) Founder, President and Executive Director, Yoli Diaz, to talk to us about raising cancer awareness and helping local cancer patients with the 3rd annual “The Big Event – La Gran Fiesta,” New Mexico’s largest cancer fundraiser. It is a 3-day event, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 21st, 22nd and 23rd, with a special remembrance to honor National POW/MIA Recognition Day on Friday, September 21st at 5:30 p.m. at the Plaza de Las Cruces, 100 N. Main Street. Diaz says this year they will kick-off the event with CARE’s signature cancer fundraiser walk, the “Jubilee of Life Walk” on Saturday evening, September 15th from 5 to 10:30 at Young Park, 850 Walnut Avenue in Las Cruces, with a special Luminaria Ceremony at 9 p.m. with no charge for cancer survivors.

Local musicians such as: Natajja; Karlos Saucedo; LC Gents; Phat Soul; Orlando Antonio Jimenez; Alyssa Adriana; Mariachi Aguilas; Los Latinos; Steppin’ Up; Caliente; Salvador & Sal Hernandez & Mariachi Alma de Jalisco; Double Trouble; and Eli James Band will be donating their time and talent for La Gran Fiesta. The headliner will be A.B.
