Alamogordo Officials Mulling Texting Ban

City officials in Alamogordo are considering whether to approve a proposal that would prohibit drivers from talking on their cell phones or texting while they're driving.

The Alamogordo Daily News reports that city commissioners will take up the proposal Tuesday.

The proposed ban wouldn't apply to people who make emergency calls to authorities or those who use hands-free devices.
