Thomas Branigan Memorial Library invites adults, ages 18 and older, to take part in the 2013 Summer Reading Program: “Groundbreaking Reads.” The program runs through July 12 with reading challenges, prizes and special events. It also includes the following programs:
June 5 – “Some Like It Hot!” Red or Green Chile or "Christmas" Active workshop that includes a food demonstration. Karim A. Martinez, Doña Ana Cooperative Extension.
June 11 – “”Caves of New Mexico”, With a special emphasis on Fort Stanton Cave, Lincoln County, presented by Steve Peerman, Mesilla Valley Grotto
June 19 – “Digging for your Roots: How to research your family history”, Will discuss resources at your library, free websites and other materials to aid in research.
June 26 – “Make Your Own Beaded Foot Jewelry”, Make your foot accessory for the summer. Registration is required. Supplies provided. By Branigan Library Staff.
July 3 –“The Rift & the River”, 36 Million Years of New Mexico History. Rock samples will also be displayed. Kimberly Hanson, Museum of Nature & Science.
July 9 – “Make Your Own Book Planter”, Come make a homemade book planter. Registration is required. Presented by Branigan Library Staff.
ALL Programs are presented from 2 – 4 p.m. in the Roadrunner Room.
