Women Vets Meet in Las Cruces

Las Cruces, NM – New Mexico's 16-thousand women veterans have a chance to meet once a year during a conference aimed at keeping them up to date on state and federal benefits. The women range in age and background, participating in military conflicts from World War Two to the current wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. As KRWG's Marco Grajeda reports, this year the women met for the first time in southern New Mexico.

Richardson signs Veterans Museum Act

Las Cruces, NM – The city of Las Cruces will be home to the state Veterans Museum.

Governor Bill Richardson was in Las Cruces this morning to sign House Bill 59 calling for the museum's construction.

New Mexico is home to 180,000 veterans of which more than 14,000 call Dona Ana County home.

The Veterans Museum Act was sponsored by Las Cruces State Representative Jeff Steinborn.

Las Cruces Police Arrest man for Attacking and Threatening Another

Las Cruces, NM – A twenty-nine year old man was arrested in Las Cruces, Wednesday evening, after he allegedly attacked and threatened another man.

According to the Las Cruces Police Department, Ruben Payan Hernandez attacked a twenty-five year old man at a home on the 2300 block of Abilene Court.
